Frequently Asked Questions…

  • First steps are to get in touch to let me know what you’ve seen and what you are thinking about. This gives me smidgen of insight, time to review your enquiry and look at my work schedule to establish a lead time.

Next we arrange a 30 minute meeting either in person at my studio in Wales, a video call to suit you or we can chat via email to discuss your ideas, expectations and budget. It’s super informal, but always great to talk as you may mention something quite simple that becomes key to the work we make.

From here I will prepare a draft of ideas for you to choose some. If you are happy to go ahead a non-refundable 50% deposit will be needed to start the work, the other 50% paid prior to dispatch. Simples.

  • All of my work is made by hand, by me, in my studio in Wales. A small tin commission starts at £150, pending its size and complexity.

Each and every bespoke work is priced based on the time taken to design and make the agreed work. I’ve worked to budgets big and small, so please don’t be afraid to discuss costs openly.

  • I will always give a reasonable timeline of activity at the very beginning of the commissioning process, which I want to be easy for us both to navigate.

As a guide I would suggest 4-6 weeks for small to medium sized pieces but often find wiggle room in my schedule for special celebrations that need to meet strict deadlines.

  • Absolutely! I work wok with a vast network of incredible antique dealers and specialist collectors in the UK and beyond who are adept at helping me to source unique pieces to work with.

I can also incorporate your own family heirlooms or vintage finds - just get in touch to see what’s possible.

  • You can email any bespoke enquiries to hello@catherinehammerton.com. Simples.
