everyday heirlooms,
handmade in paper

I am a dreamer, a maker and an educator. A paper artist creating botanical sculptures and letter pressed texts inspired by our relationships to each other and the world. Home and the Welsh landscape - that almost indescribable feeling of Hiraeth and our sense of belonging.

I make things with my heart and my hands, combing the way I understand people and places with found objects and selected flea market finds. Stuff and thingamabobs that silently observe a lifetime of someones everyday. Overlooked, lost and seemingly forgotten, only to be re-found and seen anew by me. Re-loved, reinterpreted and renewed. Handmade with much love from me to you.

the love you leave - new work and solo show
at emerald frames & gallery, Chalfont St. Peter

It is often the smallest of gestures made in the tiniest of moments that the greatest impacts can be made. A kind word gifted at just the right time. A willing smile to say, you can do this – keep going. A tiny posy of hand-picked flowers because I thought of you, right there and then.

The love you leave is a gathering of ideas, objects and letter pressed texts that explore the indelible mark that love leaves. The work is inspired by home and the notion of hiraeth, the Welsh landscape and the common flowers that seem to weather every storm. It is a quiet conversation about belonging, our permanence, and how we choose to gather. Together and alone, again and again.

The exhibition is dedicated to my Mum and Dad, who taught me how to leave love in this world, and on show at Emerald Frames and Gallery from 19 September until 11 October. No appointment is necessary, you are welcome to pop along Tuesday through Saturday between 9am and 5pm.

Selected exhibition images by Ali Mackie, you can see more of the exhibition here and read a bit about me here.
