made of place exhibition

This month I have a gathering of new paper works and prints available to buy and on show at Made of Place, a small (but beautiful) exhibition of works at Emerald Frames and Gallery in Chalfont St Peter.

The exhibition quietly explores place and belonging. How we interpret our landscapes, memories and communities that shape our identity, from a variety of artistic persepctives. A group show, it features exquisitely talented female artists Ali Mackie, Jacqueline Ford, Josie Clouting and me.

From my perspective the works are connected to days gone by and those yet to come. The little moments, fleeting yet, beyond precious to hold.

Paper objects and letter pressed texts, taken from memories made, moments remembered and ideas reimagined from the places, spaces and people I call home. Ideas and themes that I return to again and again.

Snippets of conversations and fragments of kind words, gifted in time, captured quietly and held still. Muddled together by my hands, making as a tool for remembering it all. Tokens in time, made quietly, with love and intention.

Always places,
Always spaces.
Your hand tucked neatly into mine,
Just as it’s always been.
If only we could pause time,
Wildlings swaying softly on the breeze.

Made of Place is open from 21 march until 30 May, Tuesday to Saturday 9 - 5pm.
