“As a child, I would spend vast amounts of time beside my Mum at our family dining table making things.

I would forage the garden for leaves and berries to create collages on paper bags, often held in place with a strange flour glue that I would insist upon making. We’d make elaborate caves and landscapes from papier-mâché or Christmas decorations from pine cones, collected during summer holidays, liberally iced with glue and glitter.

Looking back it is quite clear to see that I was always going to be a maker of things. The only difference now is that I try to avoid the strange flour glue and glitter.”
